Aartwork

Psychedelic Celtic Fusion, Neo Folk , Electronica

Aartwork started as Artwork, an acoustic offshoot of Workhouse, in 2008 with a gig at The Green Dragon Festival in the mountains south of Granada, Spain!

As a duo Aartwork experimented experimented with electronica and recorded the EP "Wind Over Tide" in 2015, but soon expanded into a band with acoustic drums, recording the album "More Adventures by Land and Sea" in 2020. In 2022 Aartwork recorded the EP "Devil's Dancefloor", which is currently included in the BBC Introducing playlist. Links to music can be found at www.aartwork.co.uk/music.html

Aartwork's current gig list can be found at www.aartwork.co.uk.

After the Covid-19 shut down, Aartwork re-emerged as a 4 -piece with electric fiddle, vocals, recorder (all using liveFX) and a percussionist using old school beats, synth bass, electric wha-wha spoons (yes, you read that correctly) and bodhran.

Traditional music is a very important part of culture but can be a tad exclusive, especially to fans of other genres. Aartwork has found it's cross-genre style tends to be inclusive. Aartwork's music and songs are written by the band, traditional in form and played in a neo-folk, danceable style which works very well at festivals, parties, pub gigs and ceilidhs.

Aartwork have played Latitude, Bearded Theory, MauiWaui, Weird & Wonderful Wood, Folk East, Fordham, Green Man, Cosmic Puffin and many other festivals as well as London pub venues including Magic Garden, Fox & Furkin and Phantom Peak.
