Parkhouse are a straightforward, no-nonsense 5 piece covers band. We play because we enjoy playing – it’s as simple as that! Well OK, the money’s nice sometimes too.
Playing an eclectic (big word!) mix of modern covers, ranging from Amy Winehouse, through to Muse, Maroon 5, Keane, Kings of Leon and yes, even bloody Coldplay, the band boasts a depth of versatility.
A modern day line up comprising of drums, bass, guitar, keyboards and vocals enables the band to tackle virtually any type of contemporary music – the keys adding a richness of sound missing in most bands of this type. Many of the band are multi-instrumentalists (that’s the ability to switch instruments to you and me) so they can quickly change the mood, from songs with subtle and sophisticated piano and strings (Oh yeah!) to straightforward driving rock with dual guitars. Oh yes, nearly forgot the saxophone which adds yet another exciting dimension to the band.
Parkhouse have been around for a number of years, probably dating back to somewhere around 2004 and, as with most bands, it sort of morphed into its current line-up from a former band. That band was called Quake, and they were on the Norwich music scene for around 8 years from around 1996. The name change, from Quake to Parkhouse, came about, simply when it became obvious that the style of music the band were playing had changed from their original heavy 60s influence to a much more contemporary selection of music.
If you’re thinking of booking the band for your function, you can be confident in the knowledge that Parkhouse can handle any type of occasion; whether its weddings, birthday parties etc. – you name it, they’ve done it!
