Lee Gordon. A singer/songwriter now based in Norwich, Norfolk, by way of West London. He has been described by BBC RADIO as ‘
...a devil singing an angels songs’
. Signed to Justice Brother Records whilst in London and BBC NEW TALENT SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR finalist, he has been likened to Jeff Buckley, Bon Iver and Damien Rice. He sings and writes with the sort of passion some may say is missing in so many singer/songwriters today.
Currently back in Norwich, where he began his musical career, after a very successful stint in London which saw him sign his first record deal with Justice Brothers Records and record with producer TONY PLATT (AC/DC, Bad Plus), launch his debut EP on this imprint at London’s, THE FLY, followed up with shows at THE BORDERLINE and THE BARFLY.
Losing his dear mother to cancer brought him back to Norwich to be near family and a brief hiatus followed.
Picking up the pieces and making somewhat of a comeback, 2015 is shaping up to being a great year for Lee. Norwich has always been good to him before he left for London. On leaving music college he quickly gained a good local following, selling out NME’s ‘small venue of the year’ 2015 THE NORWICH ARTS CENTRE within 18 months as the launch of his debut album recorded in a self converted pig shed in the Norfolk countryside. A 16 date tour of England followed with shows at London BORDERLINE and support slots with TERRY REID.
With some great gigs already this year including a set at this year’s RELOAD festival with THE BOOMTOWN RATS and LEVEL 42, a debut single/video ‘Waste’ getting 5000 views in its first week and a new EP on its way, Lee is set to repeat the success that was hinted at before his families loss.
