The Rockin’ Johnnies

John Dunn (bass, vocals) and John Langham (guitar, vocals) have been in countless local bands since they played at Norwich’s Orford Cellar in April 1968 for one pound, twelve shillings and sixpence each. In June 1977 they played at London’s legendary Marquee club and in August 1985 they supported Hawkwind and the Supremes at Norwich’s own Live Aid concert. They have been working as The Rockin’ Johnnies since 2001, and have broadcast on Radio Norfolk on numerous occasions. They play in a stripped-down style with no drummer, backing tracks, drum machine or any such malarkey.  Their repertoire consists mainly of late 50s and early 60s music with forays into earlier and later times, rampaging through rock & roll, blues, soul, country, pop and what used to be called “folk-rock” and “rhythm & blues” with occasional ventures into the bizarre – all delivered with panache in the idiosyncratic Rockin’ Johnnies style.
